Sequences:
Inspired by Adolf Gottlieb’s abstract expressionist paintings of the 1950s, this series of works integrate an abstract sphere—symbolizing the life giving forces of the sun—and landscape, showing our biological world. These part digital-part watercolor works on paper contrast the digital genre with more traditional media. In these piece, a photograph of maizecotton or grass is overlayed with a DNA sequence for that particular plant. This rectangle of digital code is then contrasted with an expressive watercolor sun, bringing emotion to technology.
